Large truss constructions and complex structures need planning that everyone involved can rely on. We handle the technical conception and detailed planning of your rigging system, from the first idea to the set-up and dismantling plan.
Rigging planning is based on an accurate floor plan. Where no reliable plans exist, we survey the venue ourselves with a total station. On this basis, we plan trusses, rigging points and power cables and provide all related lists and overviews.
With our 4D-direct plan system, we transfer the plan 1:1 onto the hall floor on request. The crew sees immediately what goes where during set-up, and set-up is faster and almost error-free.

Process
From idea to set-up
1. Inventory
We review existing plans or survey the venue on site with a total station.
2. Concept and planning
We develop the rigging concept and work it out in detail in CAD.
3. Coordination
Plans and lists go to everyone involved. Changes are managed centrally so that everyone works with the same version.
4. Implementation
On request, we transfer the plan 1:1 onto the floor and manage the set-up on site.
Why detailed rigging planning pays off
Rigging brings many factors together: the conditions of the hall, the requirements of lighting, sound and video, the schedule and the number of hoists and staff. A rough sketch is not enough. Only detailed rigging planning shows whether everything fits together.
Our plans are designed so that everyone involved sees at a glance what needs to be done. They come with consistent lists from a single source, for example for trusses, chain hoists and power cables. We manage changes centrally, so that planning, warehouse and crew always work with the same version.
This pays off during set-up: with 4D-direct, the plan is transferred 1:1 onto the hall floor, positions are clearly marked, and set-up is fast and almost error-free even for extensive systems. This saves working hours, lifting equipment and nerves.

Rigging in detail
From rigging point to pre-rig
Rigging planning covers every detail that determines speed and safety during set-up: the positions of motors or chain hoists, bridles to distribute loads across the available rigging points and the load data per point as the basis for coordination with the venue operator.
Where it makes sense, we plan a pre-rig: trusses and fixtures are assembled and cabled on the ground and then flown as a whole. On site, we coordinate the riggers, make sure everything is properly attached and secured and keep the safety of everyone involved in view.

Questions about rigging planning
Which CAD platforms do you plan on?
We plan on all common CAD platforms and use our own hardware and software, so the plans can easily be exchanged with your service providers.
What if there are no hall plans?
Then we survey the venue ourselves with a total station and create a true-to-scale CAD plan as the basis for rigging planning.
Do you plan rigging and lighting together?
Yes, very often. Because the two trades are closely linked, joint planning saves coordination effort and avoids conflicts during set-up.
Can you manage the set-up on site?
Yes. As a certified master technician for event technology, Jens Diefenbach takes over the technical management of the rigging trade on request.
